Selldretti, a prominent, rising Hip-Hop artist and owner of the Selldretti Music brand, accomplishes a rare achievement for an independent artist as he reached the #1 position on the iTunes Top 100 Hip-Hop/Rap Charts and the #2 position on the iTunes Top 100 Pop Charts, both done in another country: South Africa. This is the first time one of his singles reached this level of success, and it won’t be the last time according to the former West Point grad. “This is only the beginning of my mission to further elevate the impendent artist community to the same level of major labels and artists,” states Selldretti.
A Man of Many Talents
Selldretti is not only making major moves in the music industry, but he has made a name for himself in the military as well. He is also an Army Officer serving in the United States Army. Prior to this he served three years as an enlisted Soldier before discharging and attending the United States Military Academy, which he later became the first African American Male from Columbus, Ga to graduate from the prestigious college back in 2019. Because of this accolade, the Mayor of Columbus, Honorable B.H. “Skip” Henderson III, awarded the multitalented artist with a proclamation to designate June 22nd of each year as 2LT Walker Vernal Seldon Day.
Balancing Military and Music
Anyone directly or indirectly associated with the military lifestyle knows that serving comes at a cost, particularly with time in some cases. Having the time to accomplish the tasks needed for success in the military while also making a household name in the music business is challenging in itself, but Selldretti seems to make the transition a rather smooth process. His secret is simple: having priorities in order and give 100% effort at each priority on the list. “When you have your priorities in check and stick to them, it makes it fairly easy to create a schedule for yourself and keep you on track to have satisfaction in all your short and long term goals,’ states the iTunes charting artist. Selldretti currently serves in the XVIII Airborne Corps, known as America’s Contingency Corps, as an Executive Officer in one of the two Company Headquarters within the corps element. “Sometimes my obligations in the Army take precedence over my music career, but above all I put my family first and make time for music,” Selldretti notes.
The Way Ahead
The future looks bright for the Columbus, Ga artist, and the potential growth is rather endless for his young career. He noted a future project with one of his former SMG group artists LBS, which the song has yet to have a release date at the moment. “We are still working out the details of the song, but once we get it done we will get the release date out to the fans,” the rising artist claims. It sounds like Selldretti will be a name that will be mentioned amongst the greats one day, and this achievement is just a glimpse of how much potential Selldretti has to make a huge impact on music fans all around the world.
