During quarantine, several entrepreneurs have taken their businesses and brands to the next level. One person who has been a safe haven for the African American community during quarantine is Kyle Anfernee, the founder of the Neighborhood Talk. The Neighborhood Talk is one of the biggest social media platforms that promotes businesses, brands, entrepreneurs, celebrity news, politics and anything shifting the culture. Having attended Pepperdine University with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism, he is reaching new heights as storyteller and voice for the people.Since receiving the Blogger Award at The 2018 Unlabelled Awards, Anfernee has grown his brand to reach over 537,000 people, since founding the Neighborhood Talk in 2018.
His experience working with the likes of Nicki Minaj, The Real, and The Shade Room, has allowed him to transition into an entrepreneur and not just a media writer. He got his start in the industry working with The Shade Room but ultimately decided to part ways forcing him to build his own platform from the ground up. When I asked Anfernee what his inspiration was for starting the Neighborhood Talk he stated “My inspiration was mixed with a little bit of fear. As I was more so the face of the Shaderoom, I had to write a letter saying I did not work there anymore on my Instagram page, and I got thousands of comments and likes that inspired me to put confidence back into myself.” He has not looked back since.
Working hard is something this creative takes pride in. Having been featured in the likes of Medium, the California Herald, Fox5Atlanta, and the Ameenhalee.com, he is seen as one of the leaders of black cultural and entertainment. With copious amounts of stories surrounding topics such as the “Gorilla Glue Girl” and Donald’s Trump Impeachment, Kyle Anfernee and his team have a space for everyone in the “Neighborhood” to discuss their thoughts and feelings on the latest thing trending in the world.
