Actress Nichelle Nichols, who played the role of  Lieutenant Uhura in movies since the 1960 series Star Trek, confirmed that she died at the age of 89, her family  confirmed. “She died of nature and died,” Nicole posted on Facebook on Saturday night, with her son Kyle Johnson.

Kyle shared the news on Facebook from her account and wrote: Unfortunately, the great light of the sky does not shine to us as it has for  many years. Last night my mother, Nichelle Nichols, died in succumbing to a natural cause. But like the ancient galaxies we see for the first time, those lights remain for us and future generations to enjoy, learn, and inspire. Her life was alive and well, and in itself was a role model for all of us. ”

He added: Your service is for family  and close friends and we ask that your privacy and our privacy be respected. Kyle Johnson lives long and prospers. ”

Following the adventures of the crew of the  USS Enterprise spacecraft in the 23rd century, the original Star Trek series was run over just three seasons  from 1966 to 1969 in the NBC Network Anime Series, which reunited the cast from 1973 to 1975. I did. Many feature films and shows. Nicole starred in six Star Trek films in 1991, ending in Star Trek VI: The Unknown Country.

Like her other Star Trek cast members, she struggled to find her job for a mold cast after the end of her original series. During this time, she played the nasty Madame in the movie “Truck Turner” (1974) with Isaac Hayes. She was a  character who repeatedly appeared on the TV show Heroes in 2007.
