“It ain’t about how hard you can hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.” – Rocky Balboa
Boxing is more than a game of physical strength. It is also about patience, confronting your fears, and the will to never give up. Boxers often win because of their unyielding spirit, even when their physical stamina is lesser than their opponent’s. This is why it is crucial for any boxer to learn discipline, focus, and patience before hitting the ring. Omer Landau, an Israeli boxer and entrepreneur, is gifted with all these qualities to become a six-time knockout champion in six professional fights so far. His journey is an inspiring one drenched in the sweat of hard work and perseverance.
Omer started boxing training from a very young age. As he recalls, Omer’s uncle was his first trainer who motivated him to pursue the sport as a career. Growing up, Omer has always dreamed of becoming a boxing champion, but the sport is not well recognized in Israel. In Los Angeles, Omer went through intensive training sessions at Floyd Mayweather’s Wild Card Boxing Club, a globally recognized boxing gym. As he started gaining experience in the game, Omer moved on to train with other world champion boxers. He started with the “money team,” participating in training sessions with the Mayweather family, including Uncle Rogers, Floyd Mayweather Jr., and Floyd Mayweather Sr. As his career gained traction, Omer went on to train with boxing legends like Miguel Cotto and Manny Pacquiao, learning unique skills to making his boxing dreams into reality.
Omer realized the importance of intensive boxing training. The harder he worked in training, the easier it was for him to achieve a knockout victory. Omer joined the Mendez Boxing Gym in New York and Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Boxing Club in Los Angeles to further hone his boxing skills. Throughout his training, Omer has been laser-focused on his goal of becoming a world champion. His dream fuelled his energy to get through grueling training, which eventually paid off, scaling up his boxing career.
