Team Wraptors attended the Art Basel Miami this year and they were surprised by the scale of the event. They had gone to contribute and to take some inspiration way back to Toronto and said that they were not disappointed at all. Wraptors which is the biggest Car Wrapping company in Canada is known for its artistic wrapping techniques. But before talking about their experience at Art Basel, first let us talk about the Art Basel and what it is all about?
Art Basel is an international contemporary art show that takes place every year. It’s been around for a very long time now and is considered by many to be the top contemporary art show in the world!
Stas Kravchuk said, “Art Basel this year was my favourite so far! I got to see a lot of cool new galleries, art and design fairs. The venues were really great -the art fairs were located in the convention centres, so it had a really nice, clean, sophisticated look and feel to it.”
Stas said, “what made this event so special was that the artists were quite literally displayed in the centre of the convention centre. The art was presented on the walls and hung-over walkways. When I first walked in, I was immediately impressed with the way the artist incorporated multi-media in their work. It is amazing how some artists can mix photography, computer generated images, paintings, physical sculpture, and even performance to create a singular piece. This year, the art was intended to examine history and the future, which left the artists quite open to explorations of the metaphysical which also inspired me a lot. By not being confined by a singular medium, the artists were much more open to new ideas and concepts, which is always great for art.”
To accompany Stas, Karl Wolf and Diego Snow went with him. The trio said that the experience was amazing. They got to meet so many cool and accomplished people including the artists and the businessmen. One more thing that the participants at Art Basel Miami discovered this year was NFTs as they were one of the most talked about topics at the event. NFTs are the Non-Fungible Tokens or blockchain based art and has taken the world by storm.
“The trip was fun, got to learn a lot, partied a lot and now planning to put all those inspirations that we got back in Miami Art Basel into work.” Said Stas Kravchuk aka Mr. Wraptors.
