New Marvel Cinematic Universe fan art envisions Keanu Reeves burning with hellfire as the latest screen incarnation of the Ghost Rider. First debuting in the comics with 1972’s Marvel Spotlight No. 5 from Roy Thomas, Gary Friedrich and Mike Ploog, the character originated as stunt motorcyclist Johnny Blaze who gives his soul to a curve devil named Mephisto to save his father, in return transforming into the red hot vigilante using his bike and hellfire chains to turn into the spirit of retaliation. The mantle of Ghost Rider would later be taken up by Danny Ketch and Robbie Reyes.
On the heels of the star addressing his casting rumors, artist Mizuri took to Twitter to share a piece of MCU fan art imagining Reeves as Ghost Rider. Seemingly utilizing a still of Reeves from the John Wick franchise, the picture shows an extremely abrasive interpretation of the character for the 57-year-old entertainer. Look at the stunning art beneath:
However the star hasn’t in fact given it a shot for the job, Reeves has as of late addressed the rumors of joining the MCU, saying it “would be an honor” to partake in the long-running franchise and praising “the scale, the aspiration, the creation.” Following these comments, some fans took to social media to share their thoughts on who Reeves could depict, with the Ghost Rider being one such character. The MCU fan art certainly is sure to raise that degree of curiosity amongst audiences to see what the Matrix star could resemble in the job and how he could manage the screw-up.
Following the crossing out of Hulu’s Ghost Rider series focused on Luna’s Robbie Reyes, audiences have been left wondering where the character could go next on screen, to be specific in the MCU. The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus expressed his interest in taking on the job recently, a thought fans responded to well given his grittier persona seen as zombie executioner Daryl and his propensity for riding motorcycles. The truth will surface eventually who will at last wear the mantle of the MCU’s next Ghost Rider and whether Reeves will finally join the franchise.
