The famous “door scene” from James Cameron’s Titanic has been recreated perfectly in one fan’s Halloween costume. The enormously fruitful 1997 film was based on the real-life occasions of the boat Titanic’s sinking in April, 1912. Titanic starred Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio as Rose DeWitt Bukater and Jack Dawson; two youthful darlings separated by both class and tragedy in the movies hit film.
Presently, Twitter client Wynter Mitchell has posted a video of a Titanic-themed costume that made them “suffocate from laughter.” The video portrays a man dressed as Rose wearing a cardboard box that acts as the famous door, while a handmade stuffed Jack hangs off the front. The video begins by circling around the man in the case while Celine Dion’s Oscar-winning Titanic theme melody, “My Heart Will Go On” plays. The humor is increased by the fact that the container also has photos of the singer taped around it. The video closes with the cosplayer dressed as Rose recreating the part of the scene where Rose attempts to call a passing boat for help. Look at the full clasp beneath:
Notwithstanding the silliness of the video, the attention to detail in the costume is very amazing. Both Rose and the fake Jack have extremely realistic looking ice in their hair and eyebrows, similarly as in the original Titanic scene. The Rose costume is particularly near Cameron’s costuming, and even includes a replica of the Heart of the Ocean necklace that is central to the film’s plot. The impression of Rose trying desperately to shout, “Return!” to a passing boat is also hilariously accurate.
Halloween always brings new and creative costumes each year, yet all the same this Titanic “door scene” recreation may be one of the most interesting and creative ideas of the year. The video manages to stimulate both Titanic fans and the people who have never seen the film, however know the scene, which is a genuine accomplishment. In the tweet, client Mitchell sends a plea to all devotees to assist with finding the man in the video so he can be given the credit he merits, which is certainly a ton. Hopefully this amazing cosplayer shares another virtuoso costume next Halloween.
