New Posters for Edgar Wright’s latest film, Last Night In Soho, show three characters played by Anya-Taylor Joy, Matt Smith, and Thomasin McKenzie. The upcoming movie by the Cornetto set of three auteur is a homicide secret thrill ride that bears little resemblance to the director’s catalog of British satire classics. Last Night In Soho follows Eloise (McKenzie), a fashion planner who finds herself transported to the 1960s and overwhelmed in a sinister, mind-bending plot, with frightfulness and murder creeping in.
In three new character posters shared by IndieWire, the film’s three greatest stars are all showcased with contrasting tones and shading plans. First is Anya Taylor Joy of The Queen’s Gambit fame as Sandie, a 60s singer, seen irritably lit in what appears to be a parlor or club-setting. Then, Jojo Rabbit star McKenzie as the present-day protagonist Eloise, looking understandably confounded and potentially in risk. Lastly, The Crown’s Matt Smith as the baffling Jack, with a devilish, sinister smile creeping across his face.
Last Night In Soho is an eagerly awaited film, encircled by secret, and features appearances from Terence Stamp and the late Dame Diana Rigg. A stage away from his parody roots, Edgar Wright has written the screenplay with 1917 author Kristy Wilson-Cairns this time round, instead of his usual partner Simon Pegg. In case Wright’s new independent exertion, Baby Driver, is any indication, the film ought to have pundits and audiences alike engaged and entertained. Last Night In Soho arrives in theaters in the US on October 29th.
