“I am an artist. I love to create, it’s my passion”- A peek-a-boo into the journey of Actor, Director & Writer Marco Infante
The dictionary meaning of the word acting is “the art or practice of representing a character or various characters”, “disguise oneself” or “pretend”. And the root word act is quite simply “to do”. Those who aren’t aware of this will consider it paradoxical to talk of honesty in an activity that is naturally taken to be an artifice. There is nothing remotely easy about the craft of acting, it is all hard work. So is an honest actor, one who, without thinking of rewards, goes against the grain to create something he considers significant.
One such artist is Marco Infante. Born in Lima, Peru, Marco grew up in the United States with his parents who are also his greatest inspiration. He studied under film legend Burt Reynolds, Jane Alexander and Mark Madoff at Florida State University and has 18+ years of experience in theatre in New York, Florida, and Los Angeles.
Marco recognises himself as an artist who loves to create. Anything from films, music, dancing, painting, poems, basically the whole spectrum of art excites his heart.
“It’s like the hair on my skin begins to stand on end when experiencing a great piece of art. It’s both magical and emotional. I do what I do because I want others to expirience it . Part of that magic.” adds Marco.
What led him to this career path was his love for creating things. As a child, he was inclined towards drawing, painting and vivid colors. When he got a little older, music came into his life and realized that he wanted to develop his skils in both singing and dancing by taking private lesson and join the world of theatre. The one place where you could do it all. The one place where he had the freedom to express himself however he wanted. No walls, no judgement, just him. It was this joy, this love of being himself while creating and telling stories that made him choose this career path.
Many of his biggest accomplishments and success feats include being a writer and director of the short thriller film “Circle of Death” and the cop series “Intrusion” playing on Amazon Prime. He also starred and directed the film “A Walk in the Park” which bagged over ten National and International Film Awards for Best Feature this year. His other crucial works involve his appearance on ABC’s “Melissa & Joey” and USA’s “Monk”. Infante has been featured in several National Doritos Commercials and a hilarious 7up Commercial co-starring Lamorne Morris (The New Girl). On the net you can find him as creator and head writer of comedy Youtube Channels: “Baby Gorilla Productions” and “The Guys You Go Home With”.
When it comes to being remarkable in the industry, Marco has carved his own position and space because of his skill of incredible storytelling. When it comes to drama, he finds himself playing intense and dark roles with profoundness simply by finding their true essence by truly living in the moment. He aspires for this perfection every time. And with comedy, timing has always come as second nature to him. He always tries to find new ways to bring a joke to life. Teachers and directors have raved about his “comic genius” because of how he taps into the roles so effortlessly.
With that being said, the icing on the cake is his boyish charm and his engaging personality. I’m truly excited to see Marco Infante’s future in this industry. Keep your eyes and ears open for this powerhouse of an artist. The moment the right door opens, he will soar, marking my words.
