In festival of The Twilight Saga being released on Netflix this July, actress Bryce Dallas Howard, who showed up in the third film, Eclipse, shared an amusing memory of her time in the franchise to her 2.1 million Instagram followers. Each of the five movies in the Twilight franchise – Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn Part 1, and Breaking Dawn Part 2 – would now be able to be watched on the platform.
On July 26, Howard shared a picture from the third Twilight film where Victoria and another conceived vampire named Riley Biers (Xavier Samuel) are close to killing Robert Pattinson’s Edward. In her Instagram post, she confesses that she is Team Edward, which references a continuous fan competition during the franchise between protagonist Isabella Swan’s two love interests, Edward and Jacob. Supposedly because of her profound respect of him, Howard reveals that her brother-in-law humorously gave her a scratch pad with Robert Pattinson’s face on it. She also reminisces on watching the film for the first run through as the entirety of the movies are released on Netflix.
The Twilight Saga, based on Stephenie Meyer’s novels, has continued to draw love and consideration worldwide despite the last film being released almost 10 years prior. At its time, the franchise was a worldwide marvel, grossing billions of dollars from its five theatrical releases and driving many of the starring actors into a Twilight-excited spotlight that continues to follow them to this day. It’s no big surprise, then, that Howard is also still reminiscing on her contribution in the series ten years after Eclipse hit theaters.
The way that Howard, who only starred in one of the three films, is still honoring the Twilight franchise is testament to its worldwide effect. The romantic fantasy films immensely affected the youthful adolescent audiences that watched them, restoring tales of vampires and werewolves for another age. However the Underworld franchise in the early 2000s brought the competition between the two species to the huge screens, Twilight was the franchise that solidified the overall obsession between these star-crossed lovers. However many more seasoned viewers presently concede they discover several issues with the depiction of the relationships in The Twilight Saga, the franchise remains a fan-top choice for many individuals, including Howard.
