Today, Lara Darwish has come forward to throw some light on the three important lessons she has learned in order to make progress in life.
• Self-Love: It is high time people realize the importance of self-love, says Lara Darwish. They must understand that before expecting love and compassion from others, we must bestow those upon ourselves first. “Self-love propels us towards a more gratifying and happier life, as we learn to give importance to our needs and inner voice paying attention to our inner calling which sets us on a meaningful path in life.” says the coach. She adds that self-love is not to be confused with selfishness, in fact the lack of it is a selfish act towards ourselves and others.
“ When we fall into the trap of people pleasing, we will unintentionally be led to live our life through other people’s intentions and principles which could lead to unrealistic expectations and later on resentment.” In these times of social volatility, self love is one of the best ingredients for balancing one’s morale, self-esteem, and boosting our self confidence, a synergy that enhances our chances for success in both our personal and professional lives. Lara Darwish also points out that people who posses healthy doses of self love are less likely to suffer from emotional imbalance, as it enables a positive mindset as well as a healthy self image, which become essential ingredients to success and more growth in life.
• Give It Your Best: No one ever said that life would always be about sunshine and happiness. Hurdles are bound to be a part of one’s path, so is failure and disappointment. Lara says, “ We will not always win in life, yet knowing that we tried to the best of our knowledge and ability in any given situation, would likely result in a feeling of satisfaction no matter what the outcome is; in addition to self respect.” When asked about potential she adds,
“ We humans have a tremendous amount of strength that lies within us many times unexplored due to the limiting beliefs we have accumulated throughout our lives, or past failures that configure our willingness to try again in the future. Yet think of it this way, isn’t it better to try and know than linger in insidious self-doubt that drains our focus and enegry and distracts us from the things we love to do?” Lara adds that acknowledging failure as part of growth is primordial.
• Strongly Believe in Yourself: One of the most powerful weapons in this world for growth is self-belief, states Lara Darwish. She explains that there would be many instances in life where we question ourselves, our decisions and opinions, and blame ourselves for our mistakes; however, lingering long in such a state hinders our growth and success. “We can shift this mindset to a more positive and progressive one by choosing to see oursleves through a better lens using empathy and compassion to give meaning to our mistakes.” she adds. Lara Darwish says that often people lose hope or give up on their dreams because of the fear that surrounds their beliefs that they would fail. She then adds that the best way to overcome this fear and insecurity is to prepare ourselves through continuous learning.
“ Self doubt can thwart the progress of our goals and stifle our creativity, an asset we need in order to thrive in today’s volatile world. The best way to challenge our self doubt is to continuously challenge our beliefs and adopt new thinking strategies that enable us to respond to things differently, as well as broaden our scope of knowledge in areas of our interest.” bets the ace life coach.
