In a recent interview with Prathap David Sandai, we learnt all about his recent ventures, his past journey to success and even took a peek at his personal life. Read on to discover all about this entrepreneurial genius.
Firstly, Sir, I must say that it is a great pleasure to be able to sit in your presence today. It was quite difficult to fit this interview into your busy schedule. So, for those who don’t know, what is a day in your life like?
Prathap David Sandai: Oh, the pleasure is all mine. As for what I do in a day- well apart from the regular daily activities, my schedule more or less depends upon what company I need to give my time and attention to. It is hard sometimes to keep a check on everything because I have ventures in multiple companies across many different markets. But first priority goes to my clothing retail business, Black Wolf Clothing. The brand is doing quite well if I may say so myself and currently, we are partnering with many big Malaysian YouTuber brands- keep an eye out for it!
And after this, I turn my attention to Harrapan Ltd. Harrapan Ltd is like a child to me- I consider it my biggest pride. And not only me, but a lot of others also seem to think this too! In case you aren’t so familiar with our line of work at Harrapan Ltd, we are an offshore equity holdings company. What sets us apart is our low tax commitment rate, which means we are at greater freedom to invest in multiple firms which are growing quickly. We are also not restricted by any regulations in holding such as those in Hedge Funds and the likes.
So, what are the boxes to tick before investing in such a company?
Prathap David Sandai: There is a thorough background check on every company so that we can be completely informed about their policies for the future. If a company has no well-documented plans for further expansion, we do not consider it to have the potential to create an influence in the market. To date, most of our investments have been in companies such as TSLA, Crispr, Invitae and so on. Harrapan Ltd also deals in the Crypto world and has links in several ETS funds.

Wow, those numbers are simply marvellous. Tell me, Sir, have you always been invested in e-commerce and marketing?
Prathap David Sandai: It is funny, everyone assumes I have always been interested in the business world, but it is not the entire truth. My obsession began when I was just 12. Starting out, my first teacher was Online Guru, or rather my first inspiration, since being a kid I couldn’t really afford his courses. Although Online Guru’s methodology and marketing skills were more or less a scam, it definitely got me interested. I took it upon myself to teach myself all there was to know about e-commerce. Today, I have skills in affiliate marketing, forex, dropshipping and MLM, so I would consider my childhood pursuit to be quite a success.
Although I didn’t ever think about being a businessman to be my only career choice, it sure did seem very appealing. Even now, when I have got so many ventures under my name, my heart refuses to completely give in to the entrepreneurial spirit. I have always been interested in medicine and my passion for human anatomy makes it very hard for me to leave my studies, however busy I may become.
A man with many missions! A person like you is exactly what our world needs Sir. Speaking of which, could you give a few final words for our youth?
Prathap David Sandai: Yes! This is exactly what I consider is the biggest mistake the new generation is making. Young people tend to run after money and not their passions. This may make you some quick cash in the short run, but doing what you love, and all that you love, is going to make you so much happier in the long run. It might seem like life is going well.
The greatest inspirations in my journey have been Elon Musk, Chamath Palihapitiya and Catherine Woods- all great human beings doing great things. I too have such a motive in mind. Harrapan Ltd is a stepping stone, which will take me to heights I could have never imagined as a single person. With the profits I make from Harrapan Ltd, I wish to invest them in making a better future for ourselves, with no more concerns about clean energy, water and agriculture. Whom you take inspiration from doesn’t matter; all that matters is that you choose someone who is doing things that resonate with your own morals and try to be the best that you possibly can.
