Gun ban started after the terror attack on a mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand a week ago. Prime Minister Jesinda Ardern had assured that she would take a decision in this regard soon and now she has announced this new step of the government.
PM Jasinda Ardern said on Thursday that the sale of assault rifles and semi-automatic (semi-automatic) weapons in the country has been banned with immediate effect in view of the Christchurch terror attack.
He said, ‘I am announcing that New Zealand will ban the sale of all semi-automatic weapons. We also ban all assault rifles.
The Prime Minister said that there will also be a ban on selling all devices that make high-speed magazine and rifle firing fast and powerful.
He said, ‘I can say in less words that every semi-automatic weapon used in last Friday’s terror attack will now be banned.’

Let me tell you that last Friday, 50 people were killed in the firing in two mosques of Christchurch. The attacker is an Australian citizen who has been arrested.
