The news of Facebook’s data theft did not appear to stop in any condition. Now a report has revealed that many types of mobile apps are giving data of their users to Facebook.
A report said that many smartphone apps are sending their very personal information like menstruation and body weight to Facebook without informing their users.
news paper ‘Wall Street JournalIn its report prepared on the basis of internal investigation, personal data can be shared with Facebook using the tools associated with advertisements, irrespective of whether the app user uses Facebook or not.
According to the report, the information gathered by the app includes body weight, pregnancy status, ovulation information and details about the items purchased.
At the same time, Facebook has also reacted to this matter. Facebook spokeswoman Nisa Anklesaria said, “We want app developers to be absolutely clear about the information shared with us about their users and we refuse to send them sensitive information.”
He said, ‘We also take steps to find and remove data that should not be shared with us.’
