MEDIALAOUI, a Morocco based advertising company has started a new way of advertising through tabs in cabs, through their new project- DRIVE BOX.
Taxis, nowadays have become a convenient choice of many people travelling either for work or for tourism purposes. Amongst other modes of public transport, taxis are quite popular because of ease of booking and doorstep service along with comfort. You can rent a Taxi and roam around the city without worrying about parking. Hence, taxis are becoming an important source of quality interaction with a large base of population.
During travel, customers spend a good amount of time in a taxi, which can be utilized by corporate or small businesses to advertise their product or services. This idea struck big time with the Media Laoui team , and they started working on it calculating the expenses involved and expected huge potential in this business. They came up with a project called DRIVE BOX where tablets are used to advertise digitally for corporate or small businesses.
These electronic tablets are installed at the space behind the driver and the co-driver’s seat and can be used for entertainment and informational purposes too. If not used for 10 minutes, it will automatically display advertisement in sequences one after the other for 10 minutes. Not only this, but these tablets will provide access to free internet during the ride. It will have in built apps which can be used for weather forecast, GPS and also discovering places with touristic value, and worth visiting.
Offering space for advertisement with a small cost of 500 MAD per month, is an attractive offer to be made. This project will definitely yield a good revenue for Media Laoui by diversifying its offerings and attracting new partnerships and clients. But like everything has its pros and cons, this too has some operational challenges. After the Lockdown of COVID-19, it will be difficult attracting people to travel for tourism and entertainment purposes. Establishing partnerships with businesses to invest in new marketing strategy will also be a challenging task.
MEDIALAOUI is all set to invest upto 50 M dhs in running the entire operations and with its concrete plan which includes paying the taxis to display their devices, they are all set to conquer the advertising space across Morocco.
